About the Artist: Karen Talbot is an award-winning scientific illustrator and fine artist best known for her work with fishes. Featuring the attention to detail of a scientific illustration and the aesthetics of fine art, her work is as much at home in an office or museum as it is in a rustic, streamside cabin. An avid angler, birder and hiker, Karen's work begins in the field before moving to the studio, where she uses specimens, her fieldnotes and reference photos to create the final pieces. Whether viewed in her Gallery, on a glass, or in a scientific journal or book, her illustrations present an opportunity to enter a dialog about conserving the wild places we love and the species that inhabit them.  Karen Talbot Art - Conservation through Appreciation
