Like all the best ideas, these flops were dreamed up around a campfire. One evening, after a long day of floating and fishing the Blackfoot River, we were nestled around a campfire with fisherman, avid outdoorsman, and lifelong friend, Aden. Aden, and his brother Caleb, have been supporters of Whiskey since the day we made the first belt in our garage in 2014. On this particular night, the conversation came to a screeching halt when we began comparing our flip flops in the firelight. At that moment, with the Blackfoot rushing behind our backs, the Whiskey Flop was born.
These flip flops represent the most involved R & D that we have ever put into a single product. We sent prototypes for constructive criticism, to WLW community members and loved ones, all over the country. We personally wore prototypes from the end of winter 2019, through the Montana springtime 2020...why not, it was 2020. These efforts led a thoughtfully designed & crafted flip flops that are, 100% American Made.
The uppers of the flip flops are made here in our Missoula, Montana shop. The foundation of the upper is a full-grain bison leather which is soft and extremely durable. The leather is then topped with 1" webbing and affixed to the lower with 1/2" nylon webbing.
Each sole is made from a singular piece of rubberized plastic that has been poured into a mold. They are made from a minimum of 25% post-industrial recycled content. The result is a solid, heavy-duty tread designed to take you over river rocks and off-the-beaten-path trails. Additionally, they are embedded with a vanilla scent to ward off unpleasant sandal odors.
Please allow for 2 weeks turn around time for production and delivery.
